The word brings to mind family, warmth, good food, and many memories.
I have long believed that "home" is where the ones you love are. Not a place, but rather the reality of being surrounded by the ones you love.
That being said, it is interesting the process one goes through to call a place home.
Just a few days over one year ago, we moved into a new house in a new town. And I love our house! God provided for us exactly what we needed and I am grateful. My question is: When does the new house become "home?"
We moved here and set about the tasks at hand: setting up the house, getting the kids settled in school, getting to know our new church family, attending school activities, and finding out how to function in a new setting. As we busied ourselves with these tasks, time has passed. At some point our new place became "home."
Home is sharing space with the ones you love. It is also that comfortable place that you use to hold your stuff. And the place in which you get to dream your dreams and build them into reality.
What does home mean to you?
Beth
P.S. The kids have arrived "home" from camp. Yeah!
